The latest report of the Bavarian Unemployment Centre (Arbeitsamt) has given mixed results for the current job situation in Bavaria. Compared to last year's figures, the number of unemployed Bavarians has increased slightly leaving almost 250,000 people without work. However, the number of employees with jobs that are subject to social insurance contribution is at an all-time high of 4.8 million. With Bavaria's current unemployment rate at 3.7 percent, experts say that the Bavarian job market remains in a relatively healthy state despite the undeniable cooling down. "We continue to feel the consequences of the international financial crisis," an Arbeitsamt representative has said.
